GFS wants to be part of the solution to climate change. For this reason we decided to offset our Carbon Footrpint first. We strongly believe in the value of the example, which is why calculating and offsetting our emissions is the first step in making what we do credible.
Calculating our carbon footprint is the starting point for being aware of our environmental debt and identifying points of potential improvement.
The study was conducted by Co2action on behalf of GFS Consulting to understand our existing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions profile, following Greenhouse Gas Protocol standards. We provided data and assumptions to Co2action for the reporting year 2021. As detailed in the report, GHG emissions resulting from GFS Consulting’s operations are Scope 3 emissions, from sources not owned or operated by GFS Consulting.
GFS is committed to minimizing its carbon footprint and, together with specialized consultants, has identified the areas in which it can improve its environmental performance
As a remotely-operated company, 100% of GFS Consulting GHG emissions fall under Scope 3 only. In order to reduce our Carbon Footprint, GFS Consulting’s employees must purchase renewable energy on behalf of the company.
Emissions related to the website www.gfscons.com fall out of scope and are not accounted for. However, following the practice of hosting the website on a service that uses technologies to reduce environmental impact is an opportunity to improve GFS environmental performance.
We have joined the UNFCCC’s Climate Neutral Now initiative.
By addressing our carbon footprint now we contribute to achieving the Paris Agreement goals and creating a healthier future for all of us.
